Judy Tape, N.P.

DSC_2364Judy Tape, MSN, FNP-BC, CIC, joined Family Medical Center in 2010 as a Nurse Practitioner. Judy attended Indiana University and received her Associate of Science in Nursing in 1979 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2001. In 2009, she attended University of Southern Indiana and received her Master of Science in Nursing and became board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurse Credentialing Center.

Judy started her nursing career at Schneck Medical Center in 1978. She has served in various nursing capacities, such as obstetrics, pediatrics, intensive care, house supervision, and more recently in infection control and employee health. She received her nursing certification in infection control in 1995 and her certification as a trained health coach from Cooper Institute in 2008. Judy is also a proud provider at Schneck as Employee Health Nurse and heads the employee wellness committee. She is a member of the following nursing organizations: ANA, ISNA, CAPNI, AANP, and APIC. She serves on the Jackson County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) and is a member of the County Health Board for Jackson County.

Judy is a life-long resident of Jackson County. She grew up on a dairy farm in the Wegan area; she married Mark Tape, a local grain farmer, and currently resides near Vallonia. She has two sons, Clinton, who is a mechanical engineer married to Erin (Hurt) Tape, and Lance, who graduated as a physical therapist in 2012 and works at Schneck in the Rehabilitation Services department.

Judy and her family have been lifelong members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wegan. When asked about her faith, “I am so blessed to have been raised in a family where Christ is the Head of the House. My faith in Christ has shaped so many facets of my life and has played a huge roll in making me the person I am today. I truly value treating others as I, or my family, would want to be treated.” Her primary goal is to provide excellent care to all of the patients, families, and Schneck employees she serves. Judy enjoys swimming, working with flowers, animals, and family time. She is also an avid NASCAR fan who enjoys cheering on multiple race car drivers.
